HONORING JUDDY

Throughout my life my father, Justin Gould, (Juddy, as he was affectionally known) has always been my rock. Even with a family, a store, and as musical director of the drum corps for 25 years, he found time to spend with me. He was always optimistic about life and people and knew how to make them laugh. I painted these paintings to honor him. There is a short story behind the painting, “Subtle Legacy.” Juddy replaced the original plants with new ones in a terrarium that I had given him years before. Overnight three mushrooms popped up. When he saw the mushrooms, he predicted that I was going to have three children (when I had only one of the three at the time). That next week he passed away unexpectedly. “Subtle Legacy” reveals his love of music, family, and the positive spirit which Juddy Gould showed others during his 55 short years.
